Experience
I started tutoring through a program hosted by my high school to teach preschool. I quickly learned education was a profession I would pursue. After high school, I earned an associate's degree from an area community college, followed by a bachelor's in Elementary Education with Structured English Immersion from Grand Canyon University. I continued my studies at the New York Institute of Technology with a master's in Instructional Technology. I intend to also work toward a doctorate degree. I also currently hold certificates in creative art therapy and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I have tutored students individually and through online programs. I most enjoy the personal connection to my students and the opportunity to establish a productive learning environment. I have tutored in ELA, math, science, social studies, English, and computers. I am especially strong in ELA and enjoy the chance to delve into a book with a student and taking part in projects relating to the story. I believe each student has the ability to learn and succeed with the proper guidance. I also adapt my teaching approach to meet the evolving and individual need of students. I always stay committed to a student when working through a challenge and help redirect details they know toward reaching correct solutions, and learning from their mistakes.
